When The Porsche Tigers Transformed Into A Luxury Electric Speed Boat

JAKARTA - Who doesn't know Porsche, the manufacturer who is famous for its luxury sports car with Frauscher Shipyard, has presented the first production model from Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air.

850 Fantom Air is an electric speed boat ship developed together with the driving technology of the future electric Tiger Porsche.

Detlev von Platen, Member of the Management Board for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG, said the boat was the result of a great collaboration with high innovation standards.

He further said that eFantom offers extraordinary performance and a luxurious experience, as promised by Frauscher and Porsche. Here are the full specifications:

Design

This luxury electric speed boat has a length of 8.67 meters and a width of 2.49 meters that can accommodate up to nine passengers. Also present is the swimming platform at the back leading to a large lounge area with two comfortable sunbathing sites. In addition, a hallway is also embedded in the middle of connecting the back of the ship with a stand-alone steering and a cockpit.

Some of the materials presented, such as chairs covered with artificial skin that are claimed to last a long time, make users comfortable.

Performance

Interestingly, this one model uses the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) component which is the basis for the new Tigers. Including a permanently and sophisticatedly-extected synchronous electric motor (PSM), whose peak power for use in eFantoms has been limited to 400 kW, and associated power electronics.

Electric motors are at the back of the ship while control is placed inside a waterproof box decorated with a Porsche logo. The lithium-ion battery with a gross capacity of 100 kWh, which is also adopted from the Tigers, is also located under the lounge area at the back. In addition, eFantom offers Docking, Range, Sport and Sport Plus settings. These modes change the characteristic curve of the thrust response while displaying different speed limits.

Charging capacity

The charging capacity allows more than 250 kW. Thanks to 800 volt technology from Porsche, this electric ship can be charged with more than 250 kW of DC current at DC fast charging stations. Under ideal conditions, the battery can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent charging conditions in less than 30 minutes.

Price

Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air will celebrate its inaugural launch in the world in January 2024 at the "boot" trade show in D\"usseldorf. The initial plan is for an exclusive first edition of only 25 units, which can be ordered from Frauscher starting from 561,700 euros or around Rp9.3 billion and will be delivered to first customers starting in 2024.
