Toyota Vios' Latest Generation Wins Five Star In NCAP ASEAN Collision Test

JAKARTA - The latest generation from Toyota Vios recorded good results in the hit test conducted by the recent ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (ASEAN NCAP).

ASEAN NCAP is an institution that tests the safety and security of vehicles to be sold in Southeast Asia. The test is carried out so that vehicle users can feel safe in terms of safety when an incident occurs on the highway.

Mentioned in the release of ASEAN NCAP, September 8, All-New Toyota Vios in 2023 again made 5 Star performance in the assessment of ASEAN NCAP based on current protocols for 2021-2025. The tested Toyota Vios is a variant G produced and marketed in Malaysia. However, this ranking also applies to other Vios models produced in Thailand for the markets of Cambodia, Laos, Brunei, and Indonesia.

Reporting from Paultan, Monday, September 11, as for the assessment for the safety of adult passengers, Toyota Vios got a score of 35.25 points from 40 points. For the protection of children's passengers, Vios won 16.64 points from 20 points.

Another good result was obtained in the safety assistance assessment with 16.08 out of 20 points thanks to the availability of autonomous emergency braking and other safety devices.

For the safety category of motorcyclists, the fourth generation of Vios won a score of 10.73 points. The adjustment to the weight of points made the total score of Toyota Vios 2023 to 78.70 points so that it deserved the ranking of five ASEAN NCAP stars.

The latest generation of Toyota Vios is also sold for the Indonesian market by presenting two types, namely G CVT Type and G TSS CVT Type. The sedan in segment B has a length of 4,410 mm, a width of 1,740 mm, a height of 1,480 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,620 mm.

Equipped with a 2NR-VE 4-cylinder engine with a DOHC with Dual VVT-i, the latest Toyota Vios has a power of up to 104 dk and a torque of 138 Nm. Although it still carries the combustion engine, this car has met the Euro 4 standard and is equipped with Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) which has the ability to save good fuel.

The machine is in collaboration with the Continuous Variable Transmission system and the front two-wheel drive system. With Electronic Power Steering (EPS) technology, it helps drivers perform turning maneuvers.

For the price, the Toyota Vios variant G CVT is priced at IDR 363.2 million and the G TSS CVT is sold for IDR 376.4 million.
