JAKARTA - Toyota vehicle distributors in Indonesia, PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM), announced the recall of Veloz, Avanza, and Raize vehicles.

The recall was carried out on all three vehicles which were produced in December 2022-January 2023. The cause of the recall was triggered by the Airbag ECU problem so that the components needed to be checked or replaced.

Vice President Director of PT TAM, Henry Tanoto, said that the recall program was carried out to provide comfort and security for customers and users of Toyota cars in Indonesia.

"Owners of the models mentioned above are advised to contact Toyota or come to the nearest Toyota dealers' network to check the ECU Airbag of its vehicle, and if needed to change the ECU Airbag component at Toyota's official workshop," Henry said in an official statement, Monday, June 5.

It is known that the airbags in the Veloz, Raize, and Avanza models produced from December 2022 to January 2023, have the potential to malfunction in one of the Airbag ECU capacitors which causes airbags to not operate properly.

Technicians will check and work for about an hour. To find out whether the vehicle is affected or not, you can check the www.toyota.astra.co.id/ssc page to check the frame number.

If it is confirmed that the customer's vehicle is affected, the vehicle owner can do a booking service first so that the technician prepares the equipment before the car is repaired. The entire process is free of charge.

Vehicle users can also contact the nearest Toyota official dealers network spread throughout Indonesia, via the Toyota Customer Care 24-hour 1-500-315 phone service.
