JAKARTA - Hyundai car component maker, Hyundai Mobis, claims to have succeeded in having the first design of a screen that can be rolled up like smartphone technology for use in the automotive sector. This screen can be set in four different screen modes as needed.

Hyundai Mobis designed a screen that can be rolled up and down with the aim of providing space to improve the car's interior design, as reported by the Hindustan Times page, Monday, April 24.

But when the vehicle is turned off, the screen does not scroll. The screen can only be rolled up to a third of its size when only needing the minimum information while driving.

Not only can it be rolled up, Hyundai Mobis also provides a feature so that the screen can be enlarged to two-thirds when using the navigation system and can be changed to full-screen mode with a 16:9 ratio to watch videos when the vehicle is parked or charging.

Even though the screen can be scrolled, that doesn't mean it doesn't have the best resolution quality. Hyundai Mobis presents this screen with QHD resolution and can be higher which can be rolled up to 30 inches more.

The screen will replace the navigation system currently installed on the vehicle's dashboard and is expected to take up little space.

This rolling screen innovation has previously been used in gadgets and TVs, now the technology will be geared up for the needs of the automotive industry.

With this innovation, Hyundai Mobis hopes to get orders from various luxury car manufacturers for North America and Europe. What's more, the technology has been tested and reliable.
