Indonesian Wheel Chair Contingent Wins 19 Medals in China, as a Gift for the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Roller Skates contingent made a brilliant achievement at the international event by winning 19 medals in the Belt and Road China-ASEAN Speed Roller Skating Championship 2026 in Dehua County, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, China.

The championship took place on August 7-9, 2026. The Indonesian contingent under the auspices of the Indonesian All-Wheel Sports Association (PB Porserosi) managed to collect 14 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal.

This achievement is a pride for Indonesia and at the same time shows the ability of Indonesian wheelchair athletes to compete at the international level.

The Chairman of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Central, Lieutenant General TNI Purn Marciano Norman, expressed his appreciation to the PB Porserosi and all athletes who managed to make Indonesia proud.

"Congratulations to the athletes who have managed to achieve a proud achievement at the Belt and Road China-ASEAN Speed Roller Skating Championship 2026. This achievement is the result of hard work, discipline, and fighting spirit from the athletes and PB Porserosi," said Marciano.

According to him, this achievement shows that Indonesian athletes have the ability to compete at the world level.

"This achievement is a source of pride for all of us and at the same time shows that Indonesian athletes are able to compete in the world arena," he said.

"Marciano hopes that this achievement can be a motivation for other wheelchair athletes as well as encourage the PB Porserosi to strengthen the training and regeneration of athletes from an early age.

"Hopefully this achievement can continue to be improved and become a motivation for other Wheel Chair athletes. I hope that the PB Porserosi can continue to produce athletes who have achievements, which start from coaching from an early age, so that athletes who will be able to bring the achievements of Indonesia's name in the world arena are born," he said.

The General Chair of the PB Porserosi, Dr. Velix Vernando Wanggai, admitted that he was proud of the success of Indonesian athletes in the championship.

"We are very proud and happy about this victory. The achievements of the athletes are the result of hard work, struggle, and the spirit of never giving up shown by the athletes during the competition," said Velix.

He also expressed his gratitude to all athletes and companions who have been part of the Indonesian contingent.

"Thank you to all the delegates of athletes and companions of the Indonesian Team so that the athletes are able to achieve this proud achievement. This achievement we dedicate to all Indonesian people, and it is a gift in commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.

The achievement in China is expected to be a momentum to further strengthen the coaching of Indonesian wheelchair athletes, improve the quality of coaches, and build sustainable athlete regeneration.

The following Indonesian athletes managed to win medals in the Belt and Road China-ASEAN Speed Roller Skating Championship 2026:

Gold Medals:

Muhammad Athaya Rizky Prasetya - 4 gold (200 meters, 500 meters+D, 1,000 meters, and relay). Disna Ayu Luhutia - 3 gold (500 meters+D, 1,000 meters, and 5,000 meters points). Fatahilah Rajawali Cahyono Putra - 2 gold (10,000 meter elimination and relay). Then Dafa Maulana - 1 gold (relay). Devina Dwi Aprilia - 2 gold (5,000 meter points and 1,000 meters). Nafeeza Lamarch Dreineed Nadieshak - 2 gold (200 meters and 500 meters). Dafian Putra Purnama - 2 gold (5,000 meter points and 1,000 meters).

Silver Medal:

Fatahilah Rajawali Cahyono Putra - 2 silver (5,000 meter points and 1,000 meter). Then Dafa Maulana - 2 silver (200 meters and 500 meters + D).

Bronze Medal:

Nafeeza Lamarch Dreineed Nadieshak - 1 bronze (1,000 meters).

With this achievement, the Indonesian roller skating contingent brought home a total of 19 medals, consisting of 14 gold, 4 silver, and 1 bronze from the 2026 Belt and Road China-ASEAN Speed Roller Skating Championship in China.
