Kevin Durant Makes History When Houston Rockets Silences Phoenix Suns

JAKARTA - Kevin Durant made his name as the eighth basketball player in NBA history to score 31,000 points in his career while bringing his team Houston Rockets to beat the Phoenix Suns.

The 37-year-old scored a total of 28 points while helping the hosts secure a 117-98 win against Phoenix at the Toyota Center, Houston, United States, on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

Durant only needed four points to reach this milestone when he entered this game to fight his former Phoenix team.

He managed to do so with two free throws and one medium-range jumper on his third attempt at the duel.

"Every time I reach this milestone, I always think of my teammates and the journey I have gone through. Even since I was little, many people have invested in my life, in my career," Durant said.

Successfully scoring 28 points in this match made Durant now collect 31,024 in his brilliant career. The Washington-born basketball player took eighth place on the all-time scorer list.
