List 51 Of Sports Participated By Indonesia At The 2025 SEA Games

The Indonesian contingent will soon fight at the 2025 SEA Games (Instagram/@timindonesiaofficial).

JAKARTA Indonesia will participate in 51 sports (sports) out of 51 which will be competed in the 2025 SEA Games which will take place next month in three major cities of Thailand.

The biennial multi-pronged sporting event, which is attended by Southeast Asian countries, will take place in Bangkok, Chonburi, and Songkhla, on 9-20 December 2025. This is the 33rd edition since it was first held in 1959.

Indonesia is certain to send as many as 996 athletes to the event. Only three sports were not followed by Indonesia, namely fencing (gar), floorball (floorball), and netball (netball).

In this year's edition, the Red-White Team is aiming for the third position in the final standings for medals to repeat previous achievements at the 2023 Cambodian SEA Games. At that time, the Indonesian contingent won 87 gold.

Indonesia has set a target to win 85-90 gold medals to achieve this target. This target is adjusted to the number of Indonesia's mainstay match numbers that are not contested by the host.

Of the 87 previous gold medals obtained in the Cambodian edition, 41 of them were not in Thailand. This reduction forced Indonesia to rack its brains to explore the potential of other sports to pursue targets in the upcoming edition.

In addition to participating in the main sport that competes for medals, Indonesia is also confirmed to send athletes for three exhibition sports, namely flying discs, tug of war, and paraglinding.
