Marquez Concerned About Seeing Bagnaia In MotoGP 2025

JAKARTA Marc Marquez is concerned that Francesco "Pecco" Bagnaia's performance cannot be competitive throughout the 2025 MotoGP season.

By the time Marquez was announced to join the Ducati Factory squad, the 2025 world title race was expected to present a tight battle against Bagnaia.

However, since early 2025, Bagnaia has never really threatened Marquez's dominance.

"I'm sad to see it like this. Pecco has experienced total ups and downs this year, which I don't even think he can explain the difference himself," Marquez was quoted as saying by Crash.

Apart from the unsatisfactory beginning of the year, Bagnaia also got erratic results in the second half of the season. He was recorded as having failed to finish twice at Misano.

After that, the Italian rider won the dominant victory in Japan. However, a bad performance again haunts him in MotoGP Indonesia and Australia.

Bagnaia then impressed by winning pole position and Sprint Race victory in Sepang, Malaysia. However, he even lost his podium in the main race due to leaky tires.

In MotoGP Portugal, he only finished eighth in the sprint and fell while occupying fourth place in the main race.

"The best thing for him now is to wait for winter to come and start from scratch again. He didn't forget how to ride a motorcycle. We'll see in Motegi. That will be the best thing for the Ducati project," said Marquez.

Bagnaia is currently filling fourth place in the 2025 MotoGP standings with a collection of 288 points. He can still win third place from Marco Bezzecki with one remaining series in Valencia this weekend.

However, this opportunity is very small. He had to win in the Sprint Race and the main race while hoping his compatriots didn't collect points at all in both sessions.
