Arctic Open 2025: Indonesian Representatives Run Out

JAKARTA Indonesian representatives who took part in the BWF Super 500 Arctic Open 2025 will certainly be eliminated after Rachellessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum is also eliminated.

The couple lifted their suitcases in the second round of the tournament after losing against third seed Rin Iwanaga/Kie Nakanishi (Japan), in a dramatic duel between two straight sets 14-21 and 29-30 on Thursday, October 9, 2025.

"The evaluation we have to sharpen the final settlement, adjust patterns and rhythms must also be improved," Rachel said in the statement.

Indonesia has only deployed three representatives, all of whom are women's doubles, in this event. One of them was eliminated in the first half and the other two in the second half.

The pair who were eliminated early in the first half were Lanny Tria Mayasari/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi. Their journey ran aground in the hands of representatives of Japan, namely Arisa Igarashi/Chiharu Shida.

Before Rachel/Febi, the Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Maya Trias Puspitasari also felt defeat. They failed to get tickets for the last eight after losing against second seed Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan, with a score of 15-21 and 13-21.

"Playing today is not satisfied with our performance. We made a lot of mistakes ourselves, easy balls that shouldn't have died instead died alone," said Febriana.

Febriana / Meilysa entered the second half without playing the first half because their opponent, who was supposed to be from the qualifying round, decided to resign.

"It's no excuse because we just first went down to compete after getting a chance in the first half. We've also been training and preparing well. There are no problems with field adaptation," said Febriana.

This defeat made Febriana/Maya's winning record against the Malaysian pair to 0-3. Two previous defeats occurred at the Hong Kong Open and China Masters 2025.

"Compared to the meeting at the China Masters, it's actually the same, our pattern of play and they are also similar, playing long, but today we died a lot on our own," said Febriana.
