AC Milan Considers Bringing Hojlund Or Vlahovic

JAKARTA - AC Milan confirmed their interest in signing Manchester United striker, Rasmus Hojlund.

The Danish striker was dropped from the squad when the Red Devils played the opening week of the 2025/2026 Premier League against Arsenal at Old Trafford, Sunday, August 17, 2025.

Ruben Amorim prefers to include the new striker, Benjamin Sesko, in his list of players. As a starter, the Portuguese coach appointed another new player, Matheus Cunha, as the spearhead supported by Bryan Mbeumo - who is also a new recruit - on the right and Mason Mount on the left.

Sesko finally made his Premier League debut after entering the bench replacing Mount in the 0-1 defeat to Arsenal.

The situation clearly confirms that Hojlund is getting closer to Old Trafford's exit.

The club closest to signing Hojlund is AC Milan. Rossoneri Sports Director, Igli Tare, openly showed interest before the Coppa Italia match against Bari on Monday, August 18, 2025, early morning WIB.

"Hojlund is a good choice for us. We are considering it, but on the transfer market, we never know what could happen," said Igli Tare at Sportmediaset.

However, Hojlund isn't the only one on AC Milan's target list. There is Dusan Vlahovic's name who is also on the radar.

The attacking position does need reinforcement, especially since Rafael Leao suffered an injury in the Coppa Italia match against Bari.

The striker recruitment signal is also strengthened by the Igli Tare statement that the priority of thickening the midfield is enough.

"Vlahovic is also a possibility, a striker needs to be brought in. The priority is midfield."

"Milan had to dominate and win the game. With Ardon Jashari, Luka Modric, and Samuele Ricci coming, I think I have raised the level of this team."

"The wound (Modric) has supported Milan since childhood. I immediately understood his thoughts, his wishes."

"We know we need to intervene in that position (striker). They must be players who can make extra contributions to this team. A striker must come," said Igli Tare.

Meanwhile, Manchestr United is looking for a fee of around 30 million pounds for Hojlund, while AC Milan prefers loans or lower costs.

However, with the closure of the transfer market on September 1, 2025, Amoram was not committed when asked whether Hojlund had a future at Old Trafford or not.

He even emphasized that the selection of Sesko compared to Hojlund is proof of tight competition in front of the Red Devils.

"He's our player. We have to make choices. We have players who have to keep helping the team from outside."

"He has to fight for his place. We'll see. Rasmus has the same characteristics as Sesko, so sometimes we need to choose," said Amorim.

Hojlund would certainly be happy to return to Serie A. He still has a positive reputation in Italy after his tenure in Atalanta.

After scoring 14 goals in 62 appearances in the Premier League since completing a 72 million transfer from Atalanta in August 2023, Hojlund has been told he can leave Manchester United even though he has insisted he wants to fight for his place.
