Hojlund Wants To Fight For A Place Amid Manchester United's Efforts To Bring Sesko

JAKARTA - Rasmus Hojlund intends to defend and fight for his place at Manchester United even though the club is looking for a new striker.

The Red Devils have contacted RB Leipzig to discuss the deal with Benjamin Sesko.tangle Watkins from Aston Villa is also in demand.

The addition of new forwards is likely to limit Hojlund's playing time. However, the 22-year-old, who has been linked to Napoli and Juventus, said he wanted to stay at Old Trafford.

"I think the most important thing for me is to keep working hard and stay focused, then we'll see."

"I think my plan is very clear, which is that I will defend and fight for my place, whatever happens," Hojlund said as reported by ESPN.

Hojlund is already competing to get a place in Ruben Amorim's system with Joshua Zirkzee. The Danish said he would not be afraid if another Sesko or striker arrived this summer.

"Competition doesn't matter to me, it hones me. I'm more than ready. I feel sharp."

"So, I welcome all those who come. I think competition is good and it only hones the team," said Hojlund.

Manchester United have been asked to look for new strikers after Hojlund and Zirkzee scored just seven goals in the Premier League last season.

Hojlund, in particular, was the target of criticism from several supporters towards the end of the season. However, after scoring in a 4-1 win over Bournemouth in Chicago on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 local time, he defended his record goal of 26 goals in two years in England.
