China Open 2025: Only Fajar/Fikri Successfully Reach The Final

Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, the only Indonesian representative in the 2025 China Open final (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA - The semifinal match of the China Open 2025 will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Xincheng Gymnasium, Changzou, China. Two Indonesian representatives have completed the last four fight.

There is Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Nathaniel Pasaribu who met the second seed belonging to the host, Jiang Zhen Bang/Wei Ya Xin.

Jafar/Felisha played nicely in the first set. They secured the set with a score of 21-16.

Unfortunately, their good work did not continue in the next two sets. Jiang/Wei have found a way to stop the Indonesian representative's resistance.

As a result, the Chinese mixed doubles took the next two sets with a score of 21-15 and 21-16.

Jafar/Felisha also had to settle for being stopped in the semifinals and failed to fight for the title for Indonesia.

However, fortunately Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri were able to appear in the match which was held in the afternoon of WIB. The new pair who played their second tournament in China could stop the host's second seeded resistance, Liang Wei Sidang/Wang Chang.

By convincingly, Fajar/Fikri won two straight sets, 21-19 and 21-17, within 37 minutes.

Fajar/Fikri were also the only Indonesian representatives to make it to the final of the 2025 China Open.

Previously, Fajar/Fikri had already looked surprising. They beat the number one pair in the world from South Korea, Kim Won-ho and Seo Seung-jae in two straight games in the quarter-finals.

The South Korean pair are actually on track to set a record for being the first to win all four Super 1000 titles this season.

Kim/Seo previously won the Malaysia Open, All England, and Indonesia Open 2025. However, their dream of setting a record ran aground in Fajar/, who was paired for the first time at the Japan Open 2025 last week.

Amazingly, Fajar Fikri won two straight sets with a score of 21-19 and 21-14.

"The number 1 pair is extraordinary. I lost to them at the Indonesia Open with Rian (Muhammad Rian Ardianto). So I want to try again even though I'm impromptu."

"I'm satisfied with this performance. We can keep up and our rotation is great."

"Because we are both front field players, we have to adapt, otherwise the situation can be difficult," said Fajar at the time.

The world's number one men's doubles beat is very useful in the semifinals. Fajar/Fikri can easily land the Chinese couple's journey.

Meanwhile, the final of the China Open 2025 will take place on Sunday, July 27, 2025. Fajar/Rian will wait for the winner between Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty (India) vs second seed from Malaysia, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik.
