Megawati Doesn't Play Full, Red Economy Loses Against GS Caltex

JAKARTA Megawati Hanggetri Pertiwi did not appear full when her team Redmen lost against GS Caltex in the South Korean volleyball league, V-League.

Redmen who won the first set finally lost to the opponent with a final score of 1-3 (25-22, 21-25, 21-25, and 19-25) at Jangchung Arena, Seoul, South Korea, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

In the fight, Megawati led Redmen only until the third set. In a position still lagging behind, the player from Jember was pulled out by coach Ko Hee-jin and fully rested.

In this duel, Redmen started the first set nicely. They immediately scored three points in a row and did not allow the opponent to equalize the score once.

Redmen showed no less good performance in the second set. They immediately took the lead after the opponent scored the first point, but instead missed in the middle of the set.

The same situation occurred again at the beginning of the third set. Opponents stole the first point. Megawati and colleagues immediately took the lead, but they then started to slack off through the opponent in the middle of the match.

In the fourth set, Redmen who had secured the first point then fell behind again. Ko Hee-jin's troops then had time to return to lead, but the situation quickly turned around again.

Currently Redmen are in a bad situation because their two players were injured. Most recently, the problem happened to Park Eun-jin. He followed in the footsteps of Vanja Bukilic who had already pulled over.

Park Eun-jin suffered an ankle injury when Redmen lost against GS Caltex in this latest match. He fell on his partner and landed on the wrong side of the match so he was carried off the field.

This is Redmen's 10th defeat of 31 games this season. They are now in second place in the standings with a collection of 58 points, 18 points adrift of Pink Spiders in the top position.
