Liga 1 2024/2025 Results: Arema Failed To Maintain Excellence, Draw Against PSIS

Arema FC had to settle for sharing one point when they hosted PSIS Semarang in the 24th week of Liga 1 2024/2025 at the Soepriadi Stadium, Blitar City, Monday, February 24, 2025, afternoon WIB. The match was completed with a score of 2-2.

Singo Edan failed to maintain the lead. They were already open when the game had only been running for five minutes through Pablo Oliveira.

PSIS actually scored the equalizer in the 11th minute through Sudi Abdallah. However, the goal was later disallowed because the ball hit Sudi's hand first.

Laskar Mahesajenar then more aggressively threatened to find the equalizer goal. Unfortunately, they wasted a golden opportunity in the 16th minute.

The match started again after more than 15 minutes of being stopped. Until halftime, no additional goals were created.

Entering the second half, Arema pressed the visitors more for 20 minutes. On the other hand, PSIS attacks were disrupted due to puddles so that they always ran aground before entering the last third of the opponent's area.

As soon as the field conditions improved slightly, PSIS had a good chance of equalizing in the 71st minute. Sudi fired a close-range shot, but the ball was still narrowly wide.

The goal that Laskar Mahesajenar was waiting for finally arrived in the 90th minute. PSIS received a penalty after Gali Freitas was violated by Dicky.

Sudi stepped up as the executor and successfully carried out his duties to change the score to 2-2 which lasted until the match was over.

The result made Arema move up to seventh in the League 1 standings with a collection of 36 points, while PSIS is still stuck on the 13th with 23 points.
