Armed With A Positive Trend, Arema Is Confident In Bending PSIS In Kandang

Arema coach, Ze Gomes, is confident that he can beat PSIS Semarang (Instagram/@aremafcofficial).

Arema FC will host PSIS Semarang in the 24th week of Liga 1 2024/2025 on Monday, February 24, 2025, afternoon WIB. Ahead of the match, Singo Edan, who was in a positive trend, was determined to conquer his opponent at home.

In order to realize that determination, Arema FC coach Ze Gomes admitted that he had prepared his team very well.

"Our preparation is quite good, I like yesterday's satisfactory game. Later we can see together, hopefully the training can make the players more focused," said Ze Gomes in a statement before the match, quoted on Monday, February 24, 2025.

Gomez admitted that he did not have a special strategy to face PSIS Semarang. However, he hopes that Arema can win points in order to improve his position in the Liga 1 standings.

"The important thing is that against PSIS Semarang we can play well. We can get three points, and we can move up the position in the standings," he said.

In addition to maintaining the focus of the players, Gomez said that the performance of Arema's players is also ready to play against PSIS Semarang. William and Frigeri, who had an injury, also had a chance to be sent down.

"We didn't know he (Frigeri) would play or not, but he came here too. William is also ready to play. What is clear is that we are focused and the performance of the players is ready," he said.

Meanwhile, Arema FC player Salim Akbar admitted that the players were in good stamina. According to him, Arema FC is ready to have ambitions to win in the match against PSIS Semarang.

"We are in good stamina, we have ambitions to be better on the field. We must succeed in achieving the best," he said.

Arema is currently in ninth place in the Liga 1 standings with a collection of 35 points. Victory over PSIS can take them up to the seventh stairs to shift PSM Makassar and Malut United.
