First Edition Successful, Indonesia Pingpong League 2025 Will Be Held Bigger

JAKARTA - Indonesia's success Pingpong League (IPL) 2024 encourages this competition to be held again in 2025. Reflecting on the success in the first edition, the 2025 IPL will be held bigger and cover more categories.

Chairman of the Indonesia Pingpong League (IPL), Lt. Gen. Muhammad Saleh Mustafa said the 2025 IPL would implement a new concept with league competitions for early childhood athletes (youth).

"After the success of the 2024 IPL, for the 2025 season we will initiate the IPL Youth, youth or early age," said Saleh Mustafa after the award ceremony at Balai Sudirman, Jakarta on Friday, February 22 evening WIB.

Later the IPL for early-age athletes will be held in various areas such as Palembang, Pontianak, Banten, Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, and Makassar.

With the presence of this new concept, his party hopes that many young and potential table tennis athletes will emerge, who in the future can excel in advancing Indonesian table tennis to the international level.

In addition to presenting early age competitions, IPL 2025 will continue the elite category, which in the first edition also shows high interest.

The IPL 2024 season will be followed by 27 clubs. For the following season, there will be more clubs involved, which will follow the data collection system or rankings that follow the standards of the International Table Tennis Federation.

"So what is done is really measurable, according to the standards that are included in the international level," he explained.

At IPL 2025, the match will also use a zone system and clubs that appear at the senior level can present foreign players. The plan for the 2025 season will begin next April.
