Perbasi Investigate Beating Case In Student Basketball Tournament

Chairman of the Perbasi DPP, Budisatrio Djiwandono, confirmed that he would investigate incidents of violence in tournaments between students in Bogor City (doc. Perbasi DPP).

JAKARTA The Perbasi Central Representative Council (DPP) will investigate the case of beating a student in a basketball tournament between students which took place in Bogor, West Java.

The incident occurred in a match that brought together SMP 1 Bogor City against SD Mardiwaluya Cibinong at the 2025 SDH Basketball tournament in Bogor City, Monday, February 17, 2025.

"I am saddened and strongly condemn this incident. I ask the Perbasi DPP to send a team to investigate and investigate this case so that it does not happen again," said the General Chairperson of the Perbasi DPP, Budisatrio Djiwandono, in a statement.

The video of the player's beating is currently viral on social media. In the recording, it appears that the perpetrator hit his opponent's head on the field while the game was going on.

Before hitting, the perpetrator was also seen prying and elbowing the victim on the waist. In addition, the perpetrator also hit the victim in the stomach, but the incident was not caught on camera.

Budisatrio emphasized that they strongly condemned the incident and did not justify any form of action that injured the values of sportsmanship in the match.

"There is no room for violence and bullying in basketball or in the school room. If anything is proven, give a crackdown to set an example," said Budi.

The Perbasi DPP promised to oversee the issue through the Legal, Ethics and Discipline Agency chaired by Fritz Edward Siregar. This is to ensure that every step taken is in accordance with the principles of justice and applicable rules.

In addition, the national basketball body will also give strict sanctions to the team and perpetrators if they are proven to have violated the rules or carried out omission and tarnished the good name of the Indonesian basketball world.
