Manchester United Must Release Players Before Recruit Players

Ruben Amorim said the financial reality at Manchester United forced the players to leave Old Trafford in the summer before the club could strengthen the squad.

The Red Devils loaned it to Marcus Rashford, Antony, and badminton Malacia in January 2025 and brought in young Patrick Dorgu (Lecce) and Ayden Heaven (Arsenal).

Amoritism wants to continue to overhaul his squad in the summer. However, the 40-year-old coach said the pressure from financial limitations forced players to leave first.

"It's easy here, to do something we need to sell players. The transfer window has closed, we have to focus on the next game, then we'll see later in the summer," Amorim said.

According to ESPN reports, Manchester United is likely to further cut club staff in an effort to balance finances.

More than 250 employees have been laid off since Sir Jim Ratcliffe took control of football operations nearly a year ago.

"I have to understand all this problem, but the problem of our club is nothing new. We already know all the Financial Fair Play rules."

"However, it cannot change the way I coach a team. We know it's the club's moment," said the Portuguese coach.

Manchester United will then travel to Everton headquarters on February 22, 2025. The match will be a moment of revival after the 0-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.
