PT LIB Responds To Supporter Riots In Persija Vs Persib Match

The Persija vs Persib match was marked by a riot of supporters (Instagram/@persija).

JAKARTA - PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) as the operator of Liga 1 responded to the rioting of supporters that occurred in the Persija Jakarta match against Persib Bandung at Patriot Chandrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, Sunday, February 16, 2025.

LIB asked the police to take action against supporters who were anarchist.

"Regarding the commotion of supporters, LIB also asked the security forces to take firm action against anarchist supporters, destroy them, and others."

"As is known, there was an incident of a crowd commotion or supporters in the Persija versus Persib match," wrote the LIB through an official statement quoted on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.

PT LIB juga meminta Komdis (Komdis) PSSI untuk mengambil tindakan tegas terkait insiden kekerasan suporter agar tidak menjadi kebiasaan bagi pendukung klub lain. Dalam pertandingan itu diketahui ada 37 orang yang diamankan terkait kerusuhan.

"We appreciate the quick response of the Persija Implementing Committee and the police in dealing with the commotion of supporters so that everything can be controlled," said the President Director of PT LIB, Ferry Paulus.

Furthermore, LIB stated that it had anticipated by providing assistance or coordinating directly with the Persija Implementing Committee (Panpel) several days before the match.

"This is very necessary because the reasons for the rivalry between the two teams. It is proven that the audience or supporters of Persija are very large, so they are not accommodated."

"This anticipatory effort also involves close cooperation with the police to ensure the smooth running of the match and the safety of all parties involved," wrote LIB.

In addition, LIB stated that the police had carried out body checks on spectators before entering the stadium to prevent prohibited items from entering the match area. Troop security apples were also held before the match started.

"LIB thanks all parties who have contributed to organizing this match, including the LOC (Local Organizing Committee) and the police," wrote LIB.
