Indonesia U-20 Is Not Afraid To Face Iran In The First Match Of The 2025 U-20 Asian Cup

Indonesia U-20's inaugural exercise in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The captain of the U-20 Indonesian national team, Dony Tri Pamungkas, killed that he and his colleagues were ready to appear in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup. The inaugural Group C match will be played by the Garuda Nusantara Squad on Thursday, February 13, 2025, against Iran U-20.

The U-20 Asian Cup will start rolling from February 12 to March 1, 2025. The Indonesian national team is in Group C with Iran U-20, Uzbekistan U-20, and Yemen U-20.

After the first match against Iran on February 13, 2025, Jens Raven and his friends will face defending champions Uzbekistan on February 16, 2025.

The next three days, Garuda Nusantara closed the group stage match against Yemen on February 19, 2025.

Three Indonesian U-20 matches were played at the Shenzhen Youth Football Training Center Stadium, China.

The Garuda Nusantara squad has departed for China since February 9, 2025 and has gone on a long journey.

Based on information from Indra Sjafri as the coach, upon arrival in China the players immediately underwent recovery at the hotel where they were staying.

"Alhamdulillah, we have arrived Sunday morning in Shenzen City, China. We have recovered at the hotel."

"Players are quite quick to adapt to the new weather and environment," said Indra Sjafri separately on his social media.

Jens Raven acknowledged the quick adaptation. Apart from getting used to the weather, Indonesia U-20 has no problems in accommodation.

"The weather here for me is good, the same as in the Netherlands. So, for me it's good. In addition, food and hotels are good. Everything gives us positive things," said Jens Raven.

In the inaugural exercise in China, Monday, February 10, 2025, Indra Sjafri immediately provided special material to deal with Iran.

"Alhamdulillah, we did our first training on the field after yesterday doing recovery exercises at the hotel. All the players are in good health and fit."

"Today we are starting to design game plans and tactics against Iran. Players have also adapted quickly to the temperature here."

"In addition, here the food is suitable for us and the hotel is also good. Now it's just a matter of how we have to achieve a positive score in the first match because the first match is very important for us," said Indra Sjafri after leading the training.

In this tournament, the U-20 Indonesian national team must perform optimally. You see, this event will also be the 2025 U-20 World Cup Qualification which will be held in Chile.

Later, only the semifinalist team of the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup will be entitled to appear in the 2025 U-20 World Cup.
