Leandro Martinez Seriously Injured, Manchester United Is Dizzy

Ruben Amorim said he was worried that Manchester United defender Leandro Martinez would suffer serious injuries after being taken off the pitch on a stretcher in a 0-2 defeat against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford, Sunday, February 2, 2025.

The Argentine was replaced in the 82nd minute after undergoing lengthy treatment on the pitch following a seemingly harmless tackle against Palace striker Ismaila Sarr.

The former Ajax player has suffered two long absences since arriving at Manchester United in 2022 due to metatarsal injuries and knees. Amorim estimates Martinez will be out for a long time again.

"Licha (Martinez) is very important to us, not only as a player, but also as a character."

Amoritam said that the defeat against Oliver Glasner's team was inevitable due to a defensive error for both goals.

"It was a tough day for the team and fans. We lost again and suffered two goals that we should have avoided."
