Unlucky, Playing At Home, Juventus Lost To Monza 0-2

JAKARTA - Monza surprised Juventus by winning 2-0 in the Week 20 Italian League match which was played at the Allianz Stadium, Turin, Sunday 29 January evening WIB.

The victory simultaneously boosted Monza up to 11th place in the Italian League standings with a collection of 25 points. Meanwhile, Juventus, who were deducted 15 points by the FIGC due to the problem of falsifying transfer fees, is in 13th place with 23 points, according to the Italian League's official website.

In the previous two matches against Juventus, Monza recorded one win and one defeat. They won 1-0 in the Italian League match played on September 18 last year, then lost 1-2 to the Bianconerri in the Italian Cup in mid-January.

The initial threat from Juventus was born from Leandro Paredes' free kick which his teammates could not catch. On the other side of the pitch, Gianluca Caprari found the net with a low shot in the 10th minute, but the goal was disallowed due to offside.

Monza broke the deadlock in the 18th minute. Patrick Ciurria ran after the ball sent by Pablo Machin, and fired a shot into the goal with his right foot.

Juve struggled to get back up, and instead conceded a second goal in the 39th minute. Carlos Augusto drove from the middle of the field, then passed the ball to Dany Mota. The Portuguese player still managed to outwit goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny before putting the ball into an empty net.

Juventus coach Maximiliano Allegri then brought on Manuel Locatelli, Matias Soule, and Samuel Illing Junior after halftime. They had a good chance to reduce the lag, through Angel Di Maria's corner which was continued by Carlos Augusto, but the ball still missed the outside of the goal.

Soule also tested goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio with his shot, but the keeper was still able to tame the opportunities that existed. As well as other opportunities owned by Locatelli and Arkadiusz Milik.

Juventus pulled one back in the 79th minute through a Milik header, but Bremer was in an offside position and the goal was disallowed. Minutes later Milik picked up the injury and had to come off, leaving Juve in the closing stages with just 10 men and struggling to create another dangerous chance.
