JAKARTA - The United Development Party (PPP) criticized the government for always changing travel conditions for the public.

After requiring PCR tests for passengers on Java-Bali flights, the government has now abolished this mandatory requirement. Most recently, the government implemented mandatory rules for antigens instead of PCR on Java-Bali flights.

Secretary of the PPP faction of the DPR Achmad Baidowi, who is known as Awiek, said that currently there is suspicion among the public that PCR testing is a business field for health businesses and the government.

"Don't give the impression that the government is more protective of the interests of the health business, in this case PCR," Awiek told reporters, Monday, November 1.

"There should not be public suspicion that the PCR equipment has already been imported, so it must be supported by a tug-of-war policy," he continued.

Awiek stated that the PPP faction regretted the government's attitude which often changed in making travel conditions by airplane so that it confused the public.

"The frequent changes in policy only confuse the public. Moreover, the PCR requirements are burdensome from the price aspect," said Awiek.

The East Java legislator asked that there be no more changes in travel conditions, especially for airplane modes which often change every week.

"The government no longer makes PCR a requirement for flights in Java-Bali, but only with antigens. Of course, this should be appreciated, but in the future do not change again. The application of the conditions can refer to the PPKM level of each region," he concluded.
