Retirement At The End Of November, Cak Imin Says The New Name For TNI Commander Will Be Decided In The Next 1-2 Days

JAKARTA - The leadership of the DPR stated that there was no Presidential Letter (Surpres) regarding the name of the replacement TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto. Rumors circulated that the Presidential Decree would be sent by the Palace today, Monday, November 1.

"Until this moment, I haven't checked whether it has entered or not. But as far as I know I haven't," said Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Muhaimin Iskandar at the DPR Building, Monday, November 1.

The general chairman of the PKB, who is familiarly called Gus Muhaimin or Cak Imin, said that there was no specific target for the Surpres, the name of the candidate for the TNI commander. However, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto will retire at the end of November.

Cak Imin also ensured that in the next one or two days there would be a decision regarding the name of the commander-in-chief candidate who would be processed for a fit and proper test at Commission I of the DPR.

"If you look at his retirement in November, yes, maybe one or two days there will be a decision," he said.

The mechanism will be discussed at the leadership meeting and then submitted to the deliberative body (Bamus). "And finally in Commission I to then be brought to the plenary," explained Cak Imin.

As for the names of the candidates for commander-in-chief, namely, Chief of Army Staff (KSAD) General Andika Perkasa, Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL) Admiral Yudo Margono, and Commander of the Army Strategic Command (Pangkostrad) Lieutenant General (Letjen) TNI Dudung Abdurachman.

According to Cak Imin, all of these strong names are worthy and very capable. It's just a matter of how President Jokowi chooses a name.

"Everything is okay, all candidates are qualified and worthy of being left for the president who will decide according to the president's plan. The president's plan is definitely more complete in terms of defense and the strength of our TNI personnel," he said.

Regarding the KSAD General Andika Perkasa accompanying President Jokowi when he was about to leave for Europe, Cak Imin was reluctant to speculate. "It's possible, but I can't interpret. I don't know exactly," said Muhaimin.
