These PDIP DPD Chairs Say They Don't Want To Deal With Presidential Candidates Before Megawati Decides

JAKARTA - A number of the chairmen of the PDI-P DPD (PDIP) have admitted that they do not want to take care of the nomination of presidential candidates for the 2024 General Election before PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarno Putri determines who the presidential candidate will be.

This was stated in the Pre-National Work Meeting Coordination Meeting (Rakor Prakernas) at the Party School Building, Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta.

The chairman of the DPD PDIP Aceh Province, Muslahuddin Daud, admitted that all PDIP cadres in Aceh had completely left the presidential candidate's decision in Megawati's hands.

"The important thing is our task is to prepare the structure and movement for winning. As party officials, we are ready to carry out instructions so that on the ground we are ready to carry out the victory," said Muslahuddin on Sunday, October 31.

Then, the Chairman of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) PDIP DPD Rachmat Hidayat considered the news of support for PDIP cadres to become presidential candidates was an issue that was deliberately echoed by certain parties to disrupt PDIP consolidation.

Therefore, he said the main concern of the DPD PDIP NTB at this time was to carry out the directives and instructions of the DPP PDIP to consolidate all structural and cadre strengths.

"We make sure that we are not disturbed by the issue of presidential and vice-presidential candidates. The PDI-P is used to deal with things like that. We can only deal with the tougher ones. For example, on July 27, we will face it. If you try to be pitted against the issue of a presidential candidate, it's normal. They want to bother us because we are big," said Rachmat.

Furthermore, West Java PDIP DPD Chairman Ono Surono said his party was still focused on strengthening party consolidation and winning PDIP in the 2024 election.

For West Java PDIP cadres, continued Ono, the question of presidential and vice-presidential candidates is no more important than the consolidation of structures, party machinery, and people's organization. It is precisely the things mentioned last that are more crucial to do.

"And we make sure, volunteers in West Java will only be formed after the decision of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates is taken by the general chairman," he said.
