Malang Police Investigate Baby Disposal Case, Found Intact Residents With Umbilical Cords

MALANG - Malang Police, East Java investigated the case of dumping a baby girl in Terongdowo Hamlet, Tirtomoyo Village, Pakis District, Malang Regency.

Malang Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Donny K Bara'langi said that currently the case is still in the process of being investigated to find out who the perpetrators of the dumping of the newborn baby were.

"Currently, we are still investigating the perpetrators," said Donny in Malang in an interview from Antara, Saturday, October 30.

Donny explained that the case is currently being handled by the Pakis Police, and the Women and Children Service Unit (PPA) of the Malang Police. In addition, officers are still prioritizing the health of the baby.

"They are being handled by the Pakis Police, and the Malang Police PPA Unit," he said.

According to him, handling related to the baby's health condition also involves the Pakis District, and the local health center. Based on information, the baby is currently reported to be in good health, and is being treated at a local health center.

"We also prioritize the handling of babies, by involving the sub-district and local health centers," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Pakis Police, AKP M Lutfi, explained that the chronology of the discovery of the baby in the Tegal Kanapi Gang, Terongdowo Hamlet, Tirtomoyo Village, occurred at approximately 08.30 WIB earlier.

There were a number of witnesses who found the baby, including Satuni, Mujiono, and a village midwife, Malicha. The three witnesses are residents of Tirtomoyo Village, Pakis District, Malang Regency.

He added that when he was found, the baby girl was alive, with the umbilical cord still attached, and without any clothes on. Residents who passed by, knew about this, and took the baby to the village midwife.

"Then the residents contacted the Pakis Police. The baby has been taken to the Pakis Health Center for treatment," he said.
