Elderly Woman Found Dead, Victim's Child With Mental Disorders Suspected As The Perpetrator

JAKARTA - The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cengkareng Police, Iptu Bintang, stated that his party was still conducting an investigation regarding the discovery of an elderly woman (elderly) with the initials RK (72) who was found dead with a bleeding nose in the bathroom of her house on Jalan Akik, No. 748, RT 015/07, Kedaung Kali Angke, Cengkareng, West Jakarta.

From the results of the West Jakarta Metro Police identification of the victim's body, found signs of violence from the body of the elderly woman.

"There are signs of violence. Bleeding from the nose, bruises on the hands and (bruises) on the back of the head," he said when contacted by VOI, Friday, October 29.

Meanwhile, Kanit has not been able to conclude the exact cause of RK's death because he was killed or not. However, based on the statements of a number of witnesses, there is an allegation that AB (35), the victim's child, often physically abuses RK, his mother.

"This is only a provisional suspicion, not murder. So this child has a history of mental disorders, has been treated in a Mental Hospital (RSJ). It is recently that his neighbors or from the head of the neighborhood that there has been violence committed by this child to his mother when the disorder sucks," he said.

Cengkareng police officers are still waiting for the post-mortem results from the hospital. The reason is, the victim's body is carried out an autopsy to determine whether the victim died due to violence or other causes.

"Not yet, we have an autopsy. We will wait for temporary results. But from his history, he has a mental disorder," he explained.

Even the strong suspicion that the victim died because the child was abused was strengthened by the statements of the witnesses. AB lives alone with the victim RK, his mother.

"From the testimony of witnesses related to (the persecution) it was quite frequent. Finally, maybe a few days earlier, information from nearby witnesses, RW knew that his mother was beaten by her child," explained Iptu Bintang.

Kanit also said that, based on information from witnesses, AB often had hallucinations, so he resorted to violence.

"Because his son considers people (when they recur) as scary things for him (AB). He looks as if he gets a whisper or something, (when) he sees people like demons. So he does that when he has a mental disorder ," he said.

Currently, AB is still undergoing examination at the Cengkareng Police Headquarters. AB will also be taken to the Police Hospital for a mental examination by the doctor there.

"Meanwhile, we sent him to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for a psychiatric examination. AB has a history of psychiatric treatment at a Mental Hospital. Currently, the perpetrator has not been detained, while we are conducting an examination," he said.
