JAKARTA - The month of October will pass in two more days. The DKI Provincial Government has not yet determined the location of the Formula E circuit. In fact, the location will be determined at the end of this month.

Responding to this, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria admitted that the location of the Formula E was determined after the visit of the Formula E Operation (FEO) to Jakarta, which saw firsthand the point of the circuit candidate.

"The decision was taken after going through a review from Formula E (FEO)," Riza told reporters on Friday, October 29.

Riza did not mention when FEO would come to the capital. He only revealed that currently five Formula E circuit options are being technically prepared for the visit.

"There are five alternative locations, which are technically pending and will be reviewed directly by the Formula E (FEO) delegate," said Riza.

For information, Jakarta will officially host Formula E on June 4, 2022. This decision was made through the FIA World Motor Sport Council in Paris, on October 15, 2021, which at the same time ratified the 8th season racing calendar for 2021/2022.

Previously, Riza said that the license holder of Formula E, namely Formula E Operation, would come to Jakarta to review the 5 locations that were used as options for the Formula E event.

These five alternative places were prepared because the DKI Provincial Government canceled the plan to organize Formula E at the National Monument (Monas) because it did not get permission from the central government.

"There are five points that are being used as alternatives. We will wait for formula E to review which locations are possible. God willing, this month," said Riza at the Central Jakarta City Hall, Thursday, October 7.

Riza had revealed a number of alternative locations, including the reclamation island, namely Pulau D or Pantai Maju and Pulau G or Pantai Bersama. In addition, the Senayan area is also one of the circuit choices.

"There are 5 points that are being used as alternatives. One of them has been mentioned (on the Island of Reclamation). As for other places, sorry, I can't convey. If it has now been submitted, it will be crowded. If it becomes crowded, it will be difficult," he said.
