Celebrate 17 Years, Purana Indonesia Partners with 12 Local Artists and Brands

JAKARTA - Purana Indonesia celebrates 17 years of working by launching "Renjana Perca" through an exclusive exhibition held from Friday, August 14 at the Main Atrium East Mall, Grand Indonesia until August 23.

Through this opportunity, Purana also collaborates with several collaborators from various industries to showcase works that are not only fashionable but also sustainable. Using various scraps, they transform leftover materials into new works that can be enjoyed.

"Renjana Perca literally means deep passion or love for the remaining fabric. In Purana, we have long applied the zero waste principle. We feel that these pieces of cloth are not garbage, but rather pieces of history and the hard work of our artisans," said Nonita Respati as Founder & CCO Purana in Central Jakarta on Friday, August 14.

"In this exhibition, we have reworked the remnants of fabric from previous collections into new works, both in the form of clothing and decorative elements. This is a form of our responsibility as designers towards the environment. We want to show that sustainable fashion can be very luxurious, modern, and still have a strong ethnic touch," he continued.

One of the collaborators, Vincenza Ceramics, also collaborated with Purana to produce an exclusive tableware set as a form of support for fellow local brands.

"We see a common vision in aesthetics. Purana is very attached to motifs and colors, as is Vicenza. This collaboration shows that the artistic lifestyle does not stop at the clothes we wear, but also extends to how we set the dining table and our home," explained Hanny as General Manager of Vincenza.

In addition to Vincenza, Purana also collaborated with 12 local artists who produced various products, namely Sutjipto Adi, Ruth Marbun, Agan Harahap, Hendra 'HeHe' Harsono, Sarkodit, Suanjaya Kencut, Anton Afganial, Francisca "Kika" Puspitasari, Hana Surya, Rosyid Akhmadi, Arief Susanto, and Savirra Lavinia.

Arief Susanto who attended as a collaborator with DusDukDuk displayed 100% art from recycled cardboard for this special exhibition, ranging from chairs, activity areas to art works which are all made from cardboard.
