Being A Fugitive For 10 Years, SN Convicted Of Letter Forgery In Semarang Arrested

SEMARANG - The District Attorney of Semarang, Central Java has arrested a fugitive in a letter forgery case whose decision has been legally binding since 2011.

Assistant for Intelligence at the Central Java High Prosecutor's Office, Emilwan, said that the convict Setyo Nuryanto (48) was arrested at his home in Ngaliyan, Semarang City.

According to him, the decision of the Setyo Nuryanto case was declared to have permanent legal force based on the Supreme Court's cassation decision Number 829K/Pid/2011.

"The cassation is rejected, the convict must serve a sentence of 9 months in prison", said Emilwan, quoted by Antara, Friday, October 29.

According to him, the prosecutor's intelligence team had conducted reconnaissance before making the arrests.

During the arrest on Friday morning, he said, the convict Setyo Nuryanto had tried to escape but was prevented.

After going through the administrative process, the convict was then taken to the Semarang Kedungpane Prison to serve his sentence.

Setyo Nuryanto has been found guilty along with another convict, Sri Katon, for falsifying letters when he was an employee at a furniture company in Semarang in 2007.

Both were sentenced to 9 months in prison for falsifying the cash disbursement letter in the company's cash deposit account.
