JAKARTA - The terrorist act of unknown persons (OTK) who opened fire on a police post in Panton Reue District, West Aceh Regency, continues to be investigated. Police are still gathering evidence to determine the identity of the perpetrator.

The attack, which took place on Thursday, October 28, began when two members were on guard. However, suddenly the unknown person shot at the police post as if mercilessly.

The Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police, Kombes Winardy, said the shooting took place in the early hours of the morning. Where, the perpetrator shot the police post several times.

"It is true that a shooting occurred by OTK. The incident occurred at around 03.15 WIB," said Winardy when confirmed, Friday, October 29.

Luckily, the shooting did not cause any casualties. Both from civilians and members of the Police.

"There were no fatalities from members of the Police or the community. Our 2 members who were on guard were able to escape by lying down," he said.

After the attack, an immediate investigation was carried out. The crime scene was held and the results found many long-barreled gun casings.

"At the crime scene we found several cartridges from long-barreled weapons," said Winardy.

In addition, projectiles that are strongly suspected to have come from the guns of the perpetrators were also found. The projectiles were found on the walls of the post to the car parts belonging to the surrounding community.

"Bullet projectiles attached to the wall of the Pol Post and 1 unit of community car parked around the Pol Post," said Winardy.

As for the damage caused by the attack, Winardy could not provide details. Until now, his party is still recording all the effects of the attack.

"Temporary damage is still being inventoried," said Winardy.

However, continued Winardy, no evidence has been found to determine the mastermind behind the attack. So far, the evidence that has been collected will be analyzed further.

"Nothing we suspect yet. We are still exploring all the possible motives that we managed to gather," he said.

On a different occasion, West Aceh Police Chief AKBP Andrianto Argamuda said that from the results of the investigation of the crime scene, it was suspected that the perpetrators used two firearms at once. This assumption is based on the results of the investigation of the shells and projectiles found at the scene.

The two firearms allegedly used by the perpetrators were the AK-47 and SS1 or M-16 assault rifles. However, further investigation is still needed to confirm this.

"But for certainty, laboratory tests must be carried out," said Andrianto.
