Police Reported On Allegation Of Embezzlement Of IDR 264 Million Debt, Duri Kepa Village Head: No Problem

JAKARTA - Duri Kepa Marhali Village Head opened his voice over the alleged embezzlement of Rp264 million in debt funds lent from a resident to Duri Kepa Village.

In this case, Marhali was reported to the Tangerang City Metro Police by a resident who lent money named Sandra Komala Dewi on a case of alleged fraud or embezzlement of money.

Responding to this report, Marhali admitted that he was ready to be summoned by the police to explain the matter. Because, he felt he did not receive the loan money.

"I'm just waiting to be called so it's clear. I'm ready to cooperate," said Marhali when contacted, Thursday, October 28.

Marhali confirmed that the loan to Sandra was a personal loan from the Duri Kepa Village treasurer, Devi. He also admitted that he was surprised that Devi had not come to work in the village for the past month.

"Until now, he has not been present in the village, since September 3. He is at home, but every time we make an invitation, we are answered with a sick letter. Wallahualam is sick or not, but there is a doctor's letter," said Marhali.

Marhali said that his party had sent a letter asking Devi to come to the village three times. He also regretted Devi's absence because it had an impact on the operational problems of Duri Kepa Village.

"This is a big obstacle, because if there is anything you need his signature. Some if I tell PPSU he asks for a signature," said Marhali.

For information, Sandra Komala Dewi, a resident of Cibodas Sub-district, Tangerang City, reported Lurah Duri Kepa Marhali on suspicion of fraud and embezzlement of money. Sandra feels cheated by Kelurahan Duri Kepa because her loan money has not been returned.

Initially, the treasurer of Duri Kepa Village, Devi, borrowed money from Sandra for the needs of the village agency, such as paying RT/RW fees and other debts on behalf of Duri Kepa Village.

In the agreement, every refund paid by Duri Kepa Village will be added a fee of 10 percent of the nominal money deposited.

In May and June 2021, SK sent money to Kelurahan Duri Kepa twice for a total of Rp264.5 million. The Duri Kepa Village has promised to return the money as soon as possible. However, so far this debt has not been repaid.
