JAKARTA - The Surakarta City Government has prepared a centralized isolation location for children. The reason is that clusters of COVID-19 transmission have started to appear in schools.
"I have asked the Secretary of State to prepare an isoter (centralized isolation) for children, especially elementary and junior high schools," said Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the assembly of the Surakarta City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) at the BPBD Office Courtyard, Tuesday 26 October.
He said the city government itself has prepared Ndalem Priyosuhartan, which is located at Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan No. 70 Bumi, Laweyan District as a centralized isolation place for children. Ndalem Priyosuhartan himself had previously functioned as an isolation place for COVID-19 patients without symptoms (OTG) at the beginning of last year's pandemic.
According to him, the preparation of this centralized isolation location is part of the Surakarta City Government's readiness to face the third wave of COVID-19.
"We must be ready if there will be a third wave of COVID-19, yesterday was briefed by the Coordinating Minister, Minister of Health, Minister of Transportation, we must be ready to face the third wave of COVID-19.
