CIREBON - The Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board in collaboration with PT Gerbang Prima Sukses launched a digital platform in the form of a messaging application called NUChat in Cirebon, West Java. This platform is expected to become a database of NU citizens.
"This is our answer in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. This is a tremendous progress for NU," said PBNU Chairman Said Aqil Siroj at the launch of NUChat at the KHAS Kempek Islamic Boarding School, Cirebon Regency, quoted by Antara, Monday, October 25.
He said the presence of NUChat was not only specifically for NU residents, but could be used by all groups.
For that, when there are residents who will use the application, please download it via their respective smartphones.
"This is for the public. Please just use NUChat," he said.
According to Said Aqil, apart from being a messaging application for the public, NUChat is also a means for NU to manage databases.
He hopes that the public, especially NU residents, will welcome the presence of NUChat, because this application is also equipped with a security system and users' personal data is guaranteed to be safe.
"It is said that (members, ed.) NU has 94 million (people). This is part of the 'database' (database), to make sure too," he said.
