Cause Of TransJakarta Bus Accident Not Yet Known, Possible Alleged Brake Blong

JAKARTA - Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya has not been able to determine the main cause of the TransJakarta bus accident on Jalan MT. Haryono, East Jakarta. Although, previously it was suspected that the cause was the driver who died while driving in a sleepy state.

"We will see if this is a human error, meaning that the driver could be sleepy or daydreaming or not concentrating and so on, or it could be a vehicle error, meaning damage to the brakes, the brakes don't work or the brakes fail and so on," said the Traffic Director of the Regional Police. Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo told reporters, Monday, October 25.

Based on the results of the current investigation, said Sambodo, in the series of accidents there was no braking effort. In fact, the TransJakarta bus that was hit was dragged by dozens of meters.

"We are still investigating because at the crime scene the vehicle that was hit from behind was dragged quite far for approximately 15 meters and it seems that there was no braking effort," said Sambodo.

So, to find out the real cause, the Metro Police Ditlantas investigators will examine witnesses and experts. Then, check the CCTV to find out what really happened.

"Later we will call experts and technical according to the type of vehicle that hit it," said Sambodo.

For information, two TransJakarta buses occurred on Monday, October 25, in the morning. As a result of the accident 39 people became victims.

Where, two of them died. The remaining 37 suffered minor and serious injuries.
