COVID-19 Update As Of October 24: 623 Positive Cases In Indonesia, Jakarta Contributes 131 New Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released data on the progress of handling COVID-19. Based on the results of the examination of 214,745 specimens as of October 24, there were 623 positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 throughout Indonesia.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,240,019 people", quoted from Ministry of Health data, Sunday, October 24.

Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases exceeded the number of positive cases. It was recorded that 1,037 people were reported to have recovered from COVID-19. With this addition, the cumulative total recovered cases reached 4,082,454 people.

Meanwhile, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 has increased by 29. With this addition, the cumulative total of deaths to 143,205 people.

Still referring to data from the Ministry of Health, the province with the highest number of additional positive cases is DKI Jakarta. 131 people have tested positive for COVID-19.

Then, West Java province was also recorded to have a high number of positive confirmed cases. A total of 77 people were exposed to COVID-19.

In the data from the Ministry of Health, Central Java also reported that there were still 57 additional positive cases. Next, East Java with 54 cases.

On the other hand, the most recovered cases were found in Banten Province with 149 cases.

Then, the second province with the most recovered cases was Central Java with 141 cases. Furthermore, DKI Jakarta with 128 cases.

So far, 18 provinces have reported additional cases of less than 10. Some of them are Papua, Lampung, Bengkulu, Gorontalo, and Jambi.

In fact, 4 provinces have reported no positive cases. For example, Maluku, North Maluku, Southeast Sulawesi, and West Papua.

The data stated that the number of specimens that had been examined reached 45,045,743. In detail, as many as 27,378,240 specimens were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), 242,333 specimens were tested using a molecular rapid test (TCM), and 17,425,170 specimens were tested for antigen.

"The number of positive results per day with the number of specimens examined (positivity rate) is 0.46 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 5,104 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have had COVID-19 cases.
