Dress Code Central Java Plenary Meeting, Governor And Member Council Members Wearing Sarong

JAKARTA - The commemoration of Santri Day is very thick in the Central Java Provincial Government. Not only the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, and ASN (State Civil Servants), several members of the Central Java legislature are also wearing gloves.

Just look at the plenary session held at the Berlian building, Friday, October 22. In the courtroom, several council members were dressed as students. Wearing koko clothes, sarong, and a cap.

Ganjar, who was also present at the plenary session, looked striking in his santri clothes. Wearing a white, long-sleeved koko shirt, Ganjar combines a batik sarong and a black cap.

"Happy Santri Day. Hopefully, this spirit can bring us to love our nation and country more. And the spirit of the struggle of the ulama and santri (student), becomes the spirit of our reminder to respect our teachers and Kiai", said Ganjar as quoted from the PR of the Central Java Provincial Government.

Met after the plenary session, Ganjar said that he deliberately wore a sarong today. Because, it coincides with Santri Day, as well as Friday.

"So it's fitting, then we celebrate together. Many of these Regional House of Representatives members also wear gloves. The spirit is togetherness", he said.

Today's plenary session, Ganjar continued, was very unique. Because the council members who convened were dressed as students.

"Hopefully it's not just the sarong, the clothes, the skullcap. But the spirit. How we get better spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally stronger. We are getting closer", he concluded.

The plenary meeting dressed in the style of santri was appreciated by members of the legislature. They said it got a new unique atmosphere.

"I thank you, as part of the students and also a member of the Central Java Regional House of Representatives. Today is Santri Day, the spirit is very Indonesian. Thank you Pak Ganjar, who issued a circular to all OPD wearing student-style clothes. This is where I join in wearing student clothes", said Ahmad Fadlun, a member of the PKB faction of the Regional House of Representatives.

The same thing was conveyed by Sriyanto Saputro, a member of the Regional House of Representatives for the Gerindra faction. According to him, today's meeting is something new and extraordinary.

"We respect Santri Day, there is information that he wears student-style clothes. I said you can wear gloves or not, it turns out you can. It turned out to be comfortable, wearing a sarong, koko, cap, and wearing sandals", he said.

According to him, this does not reduce the meaning of the plenary session itself. Even in the future, he hopes this kind of thing will become a tradition.

"Hopefully this will become a tradition, of course, we respect other religions. This is a form of diversity. I don't think it's a problem, because it doesn't reduce the meaning of work", he added.

Not only wearing santri-style clothes, in the future, but it is also possible for members of the plenary council to wear traditional clothes. This is because the Central Java Provincial Government has issued a regulation for ASN to wear Javanese traditional clothes every Thursday and traditional archipelago clothes every Thursday at the end of the month.

"Does not rule out the possibility. From our rules, it is also possible, so that one day in the next plenary session, members of the council will wear traditional clothes. This is a form of our diversity", he concluded.
