Police Seize 112 Bottles Of Alcohol And 41 Liters Of Ciu From Operation In Banyumas

PURWOKERTO - Banyumas City Police (Polresta) confiscated hundreds of bottles of alcoholic beverages of various brands and tens of liters of ciu (an alcoholic beverage produced from the fermentation process of liquid cassava) during raids in various areas of Banyumas Regency, Central Java.

"We managed to confiscate hundreds of bottles of alcoholic beverages and tens of liters of ciu during the raid that was held on Thursday (21/10) night," said Banyumas Police Chief Commissioner M Firman L Hakim as quoted by Antara, Friday, October 22.

Aside from being a preparation for the 2021 Candi Candle Operation, he said, the raid was also in order to suppress criminal acts in the jurisdiction of the Banyumas Police.

According to him, some of the perpetrators of the crime were known to be under the influence of alcohol while carrying out their actions.

Therefore, said Commissioner Firman, raids on alcoholic beverages were also carried out by all sector police within the jurisdiction of the Banyumas Police.

"With this raid, it is hoped that the Banyumas Regency area will be more conducive, the crime rate will decrease, and the implementation of the 2021 Candi Candle Operation can run safely and smoothly," said the Police Chief.

Meanwhile, Head of the Ops Division, Commissioner-Police Aldino Agus Anggoro, said that during the raid held on Thursday (21/10) night, his party visited a number of locations, namely Sumbang, East Purwokerto, and the Kebondalem Shopping Complex.

When he came to a stall owned by the FA (27) in Contributing, he said, his party confiscated at least 48 bottles of alcoholic beverages from various brands and 12 plastic bags each containing 0.5 liters of ciu.

Meanwhile, from a stall owned by TT (63) located in East Purwokerto, his party confiscated 21 bottles of alcoholic beverages of various brands, while from a stall owned by AS (44) in the Kebondalem Shopping Complex, 18 plastic bags each containing 1 liter of ciu, two jerry cans contain 17 liters of ciu, and 43 bottles of alcoholic beverages from various brands.

"In total, we confiscated 112 bottles of alcoholic beverages and 41 liters of ciu," said Aldino.
