Moeldoko Considers The Contents Of The SI BEM Demand Part Of The National Development Contribution

JAKARTA - Hundreds of students from the Joint Student Executive Board (BEM) throughout Indonesia who held a demonstration in the Horse Statue area, Merdeka Selatan Street, Central Jakarta, were finally met by the Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Moeldoko.

The meeting took place around 16.50 WIB. Moeldoko responded to the 12 demands of the Indonesian BEM Alliance that were addressed to the Jokowi government for 7 years in power on October 20, 2021, yesterday.

During his meeting, Moeldoko promised to carefully study the demands that have been submitted by the Indonesian BEM to the government.

"The important thing is that the demonstration is carried out in an orderly manner. Moreover, at this time (the demo) has good thoughts for the government. We will study all of that well", said Moeldoko who wore a white shirt in front of the demonstrators, Thursday, October 21.

The former TNI Commander said that in managing a large country, it is not enough just to run it by the government.

According to Moeldoko, various parties need to contribute and think hard about running the government so that the government can run effectively.

"For that, what you think is part of the contribution in the national development process. For that once again I thank you all for having good thoughts in carrying out demonstrations that are quite good and orderly", he said while giving a thumbs up to the demonstrators. .

Moeldoko appealed to the masses to continue to comply with the health protocols in launching every action to express their opinion.

In the commemoration action with the theme '7 Years of Jokowi Betraying the People' with the hashtag #JOKOWILASTSEASON Indonesian BEM has 12 demands, namely:

1. Demand and urge the government to issue a Government Regulation in Lieu of Law to cancel Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation.

2. Demand and urge the government to improve and increase Indonesia's economic growth which is still relatively low.

3. Demand and urge the government to develop natural resources (SDA) and human resources (HR) in the country, without making foreign debt a source of state development.

4. Realize civil liberties as widely as possible in accordance with the constitutional mandate and guarantee the security of everyone on the right to opinion and in expressing opinions as well as present evaluations and reforms within the National Police Institution

5. Realize the supremacy of law and human rights that is just, non-selective and resolves past human rights.

6. Dismiss Firli Bahuri as KPK Chair, Cancel TWK, Present Perppu on KPK Law no. 19 of 2019 and Restore the dignity of the KPK as the realization of Jokowi's promises in the agenda of eradicating corruption.

7. Demanding the government to provide first aid affirmations over 35 years of age and a period of service of more than 10 years to be prioritized for graduation and to directly appoint honorary teachers over 50 years of age.

8. Demand the government to immediately improve the quality of education, both in terms of improving the quality of Indonesian teachers and equitable distribution of educational facilities and infrastructure throughout Indonesia.

9. Demand the government to restore the independence of the National Education Standards Agency.

10. Urge President Jokowi to immediately issue a Government Regulation in Lieu of Law to annul Law no. 3 of 2020 concerning MINERAL.

11. Urge the government to immediately meet the energy mix target and immediately accelerate the transition of dirty energy to new and renewable energy.

12. Affirmation of the pornography law as a legal regulation to tackle pornographic content that has an impact on the rise of sexual harassment.
