PLN Partner Cable Installation Worker Dies Of Electrocution In Warakas

JAKARTA - Rahmat Syafaat (35), an electric cable maintenance officer was found dead from being electrocuted on Jalan Warakas Raya, Warakas Village, Tanjung Priok District, North Jakarta. The victim's body was found hanging from an electric pole.

North Jakarta Head of Operations Gulkarmat, Wahid, said that when the incident occurred, the victim was carrying out electrical wiring maintenance at the location.

"Public street lighting officers (PJU) are carrying out cable maintenance. The victim is a PLN partner officer," he said when contacted by VOI, Thursday, October 21.

The bodies of the victims who died hanging were immediately evacuated by North Jakarta Gulkarmat officers.

"The cause of death of the victim was due to electric shock. He was still hanging from the PJU cable, then we managed to evacuate him," he said.

During the evacuation process, assisted by the Tanjung Priuk Police, PJU officers, Civil service police (Satpol PP), and the Health Office.

"The victim died at the scene. The victim was recorded as a resident of Liung Tutut Village, RT 02/03, Tasikmalaya. He was evacuated by 5 Gulkarmat Jakut officers," he said.

Meanwhile, the case is being handled by the Tanjung Priok Police.
