Bandung Regent Will Sanction Camat For Not Reaching Vaccination Target

BANDUNG - Bandung Regent Dadang Supriatna imposed sanctions on sub-district heads whose areas did not reach the vaccination target of 60 percent on October 17.

"If until October 17, 60 percent has not been reached, there will be punishment for the sub-district heads. On the other hand, if the sub-district heads can achieve this target, we will give rewards," said Dadang in Bandung, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, October 12.

He explained that the priority sub-districts to speed up vaccination are 24 sub-districts that will hold simultaneous village head elections (pikades) to reduce the risk of the emergence of new clusters of COVID-19.

According to him, the sub-district heads must work closely with the health office (Dinkes) to speed up the vaccination process. In addition, the sub-district head must also regularly coordinate with the TNI-Polri apparatus in order to prevent socio-political disturbances in the areas that carry out the Pilkades.

"At least residents who have the right to vote have been vaccinated, so their safety is guaranteed. Candidates for village head (village head) must also be vaccinated first," said Dadang.

In addition to vaccination, according to him, the Bandung Regency Government has also prepared an antigen swab test for the organizing committee for the village head election. In addition, a reserve committee has been prepared to anticipate a shortage of personnel if there are reactive ones.

"Congratulations to the 190 candidates for village heads. Whoever will come out as the winner on October 20, is absolutely the person chosen by the community," continued Dadang.

Based on data from the COVID-19 Task Force, currently only 10 sub-districts out of 31 sub-districts have vaccination rates exceeding 50 percent, while the other 21 sub-districts are still below 50 percent.
