BOGOR – Bogor Mayor Bima Arya appreciated the attitude of the Bogor City Education Office to stop face-to-face learning (PTM) at SMAN 7 Bogor. The decision follows a student murder incident, on Wednesday 7 October, with 17-year-old RMP victim.
Regarding how long PTM at SMAN 7 Bogor will be stopped, Bima Arya will coordinate with the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, to evaluate the continuation of the PTM system in the school concerned.
Located at the Bogor City Police Headquarters last Friday, October 8, 2021, Bima Arya accompanied by the Bogor City Police Chief Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro said that the sanction was in the form of terminating the PTM which was limited to the two schools involved in violent acts that resulted in the loss of students' lives.
"I believe that the law can be enforced and entrust it to the police," said Bima Arya to the media crew.
Bima further explained that he would consult with the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, to systematically formulate more effective policies to prevent violence that resulted in loss of life from recurring.
"We also monitor this PTM so that things don't happen that are not wanted," he added.
Bima also appealed to all parties to exercise restraint related to violent incidents that took lives, Bima would even take strict action if there were parties who became excesses in the incident.
"We will take strict action against all parties who try to become excesses in this incident," Bima concluded.
