MEULABOH - The West Aceh District Health Office investigated the attack of fly pests that hit four villages in Arongan Lambalek and Samatiga sub-districts.

"Currently, a team from the Health Office is working in the field, our officers are conducting an investigation regarding this fly pest problem," said Head of the West Aceh District Health Office Syarifah Junaidah in Meulaboh, Wednesday, October 6.

Syarifah explained that the villages that were hit by the fly pest attack were Peuribu and Cot Kumbang Villages, Arongan Lambalek District and Suak Seumaseh and Suak Geudeubang Villages, Samatiga District, West Aceh, Aceh.

Syarifah said based on the results of a search conducted by the health team, the attack of the fly pest was suspected to have come from the broiler farm area in this area.

"The temporary suspicion is that this fly pest attack is due to the presence of chicken farms around residential areas," he said.

In order to prove the findings, he said, the team is still gathering information from the community and will take appropriate steps to deal with fly pests in residential areas.

Meanwhile, Panglima Laut Amiruddin, a community leader in Arongan Lambalek Sub-district, West Aceh, said that the fly pest attack that had hit the four villages disturbed the residents.

He said the attack of the fly pest had made people uncomfortable with their activities, including having to protect food and drink from flies.

"We are very worried about this issue, we hope that there will be firm steps from the local government soon," said Amiruddin.
