KPK Confirms Fake Letter Of Inquiry Into Alleged Corruption In Gowa Regency

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that the investigation letter for alleged corruption in Gowa Regency is fake. This certainty after they checked the letter that was widely circulated in the community.

"KPK has checked and confirmed that the two letters are fake," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, to reporters, Wednesday, October 6.

He said the letter was not in accordance with the official script system in effect within the KPK as seen from the letter numbering. "The letter was also not signed and the name of the signatory was wrong, namely on behalf of Eko Marjono as Director of Corruption Analysis and Director of Investigation," said Ali.

The KPK suspects that this letter was made to blackmail certain parties in Gowa Regency and this often happens. So, Ali asked the public to be careful if they found a letter like this and are expected to immediately report it to the authorities.

"The KPK expressly asks the parties to no longer falsify or carry out actions on behalf of the KPK to deceive, extort, and other criminal acts that can harm the community. The KPK also urges the public to always be careful and alert to various modes of fraud that often occur in Indonesia. these areas," he said.

In addition to reporting to the authorities, the public can also report letters or acts of extortion to the KPK 198 call center.

There are two letters found by the KPK and circulating in the community, namely letters related to monitoring activities and gathering further information as well as investigations into allegations of corruption that occurred in Gowa Regency.

The fake letter was prepared and signed by the Director of Corruption Analysis and the Director of Investigation, both on behalf of Eko Marjono, which was addressed to the Deputy for Enforcement and the Commissioner of the KPK.
