Erick Thohir: SOE Children Can't Participate In Project Tenders Below IDR 15 Billion

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir reminded that all project tenders under Rp. 15 billion should not be carried out by children or grandchildren of SOEs. But it must be given to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

He explained that the tender for the SOE project is below Rp. 15 billion so far, it has been collaborated with MSMEs through the PaDi MSME program.

This program is also a form of BUMN support for MSMEs.

"Well, we can see for example how the PaDi MSME program is, we ask that all BUMN tenders under Rp. 15 billion must go to MSMEs, there should be no family of directors, grandchildren, companies or foundations," he said at the signing ceremony. Erick said that the PaDi MSME program had been running for five years. In fact, there are already as many as 50,000 MSME players who are members of it.

"It's been almost 5 years and there are already 50,000 MSMEs that have entered this ecosystem. And 90 percent of the food," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of BPOM Taruna Ikrar said that his party is collaborating with the Ministry of SOEs in order to increase the competitiveness of MSMEs.

This collaboration, said Ikrar, is also in line with the direction of President Prabowo Subianto to pay attention to MSME players. Given, MSMEs are the backbone of the national economy.

"The essence that we MoU is the relationship between how these two state institutions and ministries work together to increase the degree of economic value and at the same time the role of MSMEs," he said.

Ikrar assessed that cooperation with the Ministry of SOEs is very important because it has valid data related to it.

With this collaboration, BPOM can speed up the process of setting up.

Moreover, he continued, based on statistical data, there are 61 million MSMEs in Indonesia. From this data, as many as 117 million Indonesians depend on MSMEs.

"From the total amount that we see, there are actually around 4.3 million which directly intersect with BPOM's duties. But we open data, only 60,000 of our registered data. So there is a lot that we need to do to see how these millions of MSMEs can be registered at BPOM, "he explained.
