COVID-19 Update As Of October 5th: New Cases 1,404, Active Cases 29,823

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 255,486 specimens were examined with the result that there were 1,404 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,221,610 people and 29,823 active cases," according to data from the Ministry of Health, Tuesday, October 5.

Today's recovered cases increased by 2,558 cases, bringing the total to 4,049,449 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 77 people and a total of 142,338 people.

The province with the most new cases was in East Java with 139 cases and a total of 394,044 cases. Followed by West Java with 105 new cases with a total of 703,319 cases. Central Java has 91 new cases and a total of 482,444 cases. Then, North Sumatra with 80 new cases and a total of 105,021 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 273 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 206 recovered cases, Bangka Belitung with an additional 197 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 167 recovered cases.

There is one province that reported no new cases today, namely Gorontalo. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 40,314,564.

"Positive results per number of people tested or this week's positivity rate of 0.98 percent," he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, 139,156. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 94,939,217 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 53,656,921 people have received the second dose of vaccination. While the third dose of vaccination was 968,750. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
