For 14 Days, Police Handle 3.595 Noisy Exhaust Motorcycles On The Road

JAKARTA - After 14 days of holding Operation Patuh Jaya 2021, the police managed to crack down on thousands of vehicles using noisy exhausts. Head of Sub-Directorate for Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, Argo Wiyono said that violators were given a ticket.

"For violations of exhaust that are not up to standard, there are 3.595 vehicles," said Argo, Monday, September 4.

Not only ticketed, but noisy exhaust users were also confiscated by the police. Most violations in Operation Patuh Jaya 2021 were carried out by two-wheeled riders.

It is known that the Metro Jaya Police will hold Operation Patuh Jaya 2021 for 14 days starting from September 20 to October 3, 2021. One of the targets in the operation is to take action against vehicles that use exhaust that does not comply with the provisions.

According to Metro Jaya Police Traffic Directorate (Dirlantas), Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo, noisy exhausts can cause noise pollution, damage the concentration of other motorists and cause road accidents that are troubling to the public.

"Noisy exhaust is one of the complaints from the public because it causes noise and can lead to traffic accidents," said Sambodo.
