Anies Remembers The Departure Of Jhony Tjitrokusumo, Energetic Figure Brings Transjakarta Through Challenging Times

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Transjakarta Sardjono Jhony Tjitrokusumo passed away today. DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan immediately went to the funeral home.

Even though he has only been in office for a year, Jhony, in Anies' eyes, is an energetic figure who is able to lead Transjakarta as a BUMD that is going through challenging times. This he conveyed in his Instagram account, aniesbaswedan.

"A very energetic person. His outlook is always positive, optimistic, intelligent and quick to come up with new ideas. Very sociable, friends of the deceased are everywhere," said Anies, Sunday, October 3.

Shortly before his death, Jhony was working on the DKI Provincial Government's plan to use electric buses. Until finally, Jhony was hospitalized until he breathed his last.

"God has a perfect plan. His task in this world has been fulfilled. He started getting sick while on an official trip to the United States, while working on implementing Transjakarta's plan to use an electric bus fleet," said Anies.

Anies prays for Jhony's good deeds to be accepted by Allah SWT. Also, the family left behind is given strength and fortitude.

For information, Jhony breathed his last at the Army Central Hospital (RSPAD) Gatot Subroto at 09.51 WIB due to the illness he was suffering from. Jhony was buried at the Pondok Ranggon TPU, East Jakarta.

Jhony was officially appointed as President Director of PT Transjakarta on May 29, 2020 by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan.

Prior to joining Transjakarta, Jhony was an aviator who had worked for several world airlines, was the President Director of Merpati Nusantara Airlines from 2010 to 2012, and was the founder and owner of the Leste Aviation Company in Timor Leste in 2013.

In addition, Jhony has also been Director of Operations for West Java International Airport, Chairman of West Java Enterprises Partnership, Founder of Leste Development And Investment Company in 2016 and subsequently served as Director of Business Development of PT Angkasa Pura 1 (Persero) from 2017 to 2020 which oversees the portfolio.
