Calling Melinjo Can Cure Gout, Sandiaga Uno Will Develop Creative Cracked Chip Products

SERANG – Cracked chips in Cikolelet Tourism Village, Cinangka District, Serang Regency, Banten, have high competitiveness in the international market. This was conveyed by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno.

"So, we will develop emping products in Cikolelet Village, not only the crackers, but also the skin we innovate, because this melinjo skin can be used for gout medicine," he said when visiting Cikolelet Village as in his statement, Jakarta, Saturday, October 2.

In addition, it is mentioned that many creative economy products are produced from this village. Such as Etawa goat's milk products, mushroom cultivation and processing, thatch leaf roofing crafts, waste processing, coconut oil refining, and quail cultivation.

The various traditions in Cikolelet Village are said to also have a tourist attraction. One of the traditions in the village is Ngurah Danau, which is a tradition of cleaning the lake which is held once a year with the participation of the whole community into the lake which is starting to dry up and take fish.

"We must preserve noble cultural values because this is a legacy that can eventually develop the potential for tourism and the creative economy here," he explained.

The series of advantages of this creative economy center have brought Cikolelet Tourism Village into the top 50 best tourist villages in the 2021 Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI) event.

"Hopefully this tourist village will continue to develop and become a channel to open up business opportunities and employment opportunities for the community," said the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf).
