The Governor Of Gorontalo Is Worried That There Will Be Resistance From The Public If The Attitude Of Social Minister Risma Is Not Corrected By The President

JAKARTA - Gorontalo Governor, Rusli Habibie, specifically asked President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to evaluate the work of the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, in carrying out her duties.

This was conveyed by Rusli after the incident of the expulsion of one of the staff of Gorontalo Province during a meeting with the Minister of Social Affairs in the middle of this week.

"I ask the President, the Vice President, the State Secretariat to evaluate (the work of Social Minister Risma)", he told the media as quoted on Saturday, October 2.

Rusli made this statement because he did not accept the attitude shown by Risma by pointing at the chest of one of the Gorontalo Provincial Government PKH (Hope Family Program) staff while asking to leave.

Meanwhile, Risma's emotions peaked because she considered the deletion of data on certain social assistance recipients in Gorontalo Province which should not have been deleted according to data from the central government.

“If it is wrong, it should be corrected, directed, not standing and pointing and being told to leave. This is a very unfortunate attitude from a minister", said Rusli.

With this incident, Rusli immediately felt the need to ask the President as the direct supervisor of Social Minister Risma to take action. He assessed that this incident should not be repeated because it is considered to have the potential to cause unfavorable effects in the future.

"I hope it doesn't happen again. I am afraid that there will be resistance from the community", said Rusli.

Previously in mid-July, Social Minister Risma also got angry with the Ministry of Social employees who worked at Balai Wyata Guna Bandung. This emotional attitude occurred because Risma felt that her work visit was purely to monitor and help people who were experiencing difficulties due to PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions).

However, when he arrived at the location, he was surprised that a single organ reception had been prepared by the local committee.

"The people are having a hard time, everyone is having a hard time but all of my friends are like priyayi (nobility in Javanese)", said the former Surabaya mayor when expressing his frustration.
